The Power of Waiting
Here's an article from Huff Post that is Theology of Dance all over, even though it's secular. It's an example of why I say some of my best theology teachers have been dance instructors who weren't even Christian. The woman talks about her inability to wait, and how she thought power was found in striking first. It's interesting how she notices that dance is an expression of how we treat realtionship, and how she notices that it teaches women the great power in waiting for the lead, and how it teaches men to use confidence in gentleness. Though she does't say it, what she's learned is some of what we call Virtue of Chastity, of being genuinely feminine. And her experience is not unique. I know of many women who've learned the power of patience through dance.
